On the face of it, the National Capital Region looks to have made a smooth recovery from the pandemic. Nearly 768,000 were employed in February — just 4,200 shy of the level posted the same month two years earlier. The jobless rate of 4.9 per cent in February was up from 4.6 per cent over the same period, but still in healthy territory.
