Hard evidence of voter apathy is a little hard to come by, but there was this: An Abacus poll this month found 54 per cent of respondents were following the election “somewhat” or very closely, 30 per cent said “only a little” and a total of 15 per cent said “not at all” or didn’t know an election was even on.
