Ukraine is waging a defensive war against an unprovoked and unjustifiable attack from Russia. According to Russian state media, the purpose of this attack is to erase the nation of Ukraine from the face of the Earth. This is a genocidal mission that has been so recognized by many world leaders, including President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Trudeau.
