Barutciski: Canada can use diplomacy to solve Roxham Road migrant issue

Many commentators claim the U.S. has no interest in renegotiating the Canada-U.S. Safe Third Country Agreement (STCA) to prevent irregular migrants from using Roxham Road to enter Canada. While this unofficial crossing has resulted in a new record number of asylum claims in Quebec, recent revelations have made it even more urgent for the Canadian government to address this situation. New York City has apparently paid bus fare to send asylum seekers towards Roxham Road and U.S. border guards have transported them directly to the unofficial crossing.
