The long-awaited verdict in the trial of Const. Daniel Montsion has been delivered. The Ottawa police officer has been found not guilty on all three counts in the death of Abdirahman Abdi, a Black man. Justice Robert Kelly, presiding, said he had reasonable doubt that Montsion’s actions during an arrest four years ago caused Abdi’s death. The law has spoken and we have no choice but to accept it.
